  • International Development Plan (IDP) allowing business delegations to participate in the main world trade fairs
  • Structuring the health sector thanks to financing tools such as PIA3 (State-Region partnership)
  • Call for expression of interest to help medical technology companies to comply with the new European regulation "CE marking medical device 2020"

Furthermore, veterinary public health is a strategic area for the territory, and the region is delighted to invest in the VPH HUB.

The IRT (Institute of Research Technologies) BIOASTER, at the interface between private and academic actors in the Microbiology & Infectious Diseases, collaboratively designs and supports projects to accelerate the development of new products and solutions for the benefit of both human & animal within the frame of the “One Health Concept”.

In close contact with product developers and academic partners, we bring together academic creativity and industry needs, by providing knowledge and technology competencies to design, manage investments and execute projects tailored to the question asked, to support decision-making through results driven and informed decision process.

This is possible through our multidisciplinary teams and transversal organization supporting the 4 areas of microbiology that are prophylaxis, diagnostic, therapy and microbiome. We focus in particular on understanding the host pathogen interactions, biomarkers as the basis for population stratifications and precision medicine development.

On a daily basis, we provide our partners and clients with innovative scientific and technological solutions by:
• designing and implementing tailored technological solutions to open them new areas of opportunities or tackle technological barriers identified in their developments;
• producing robust and quality data, meeting industrial needs.

ANSES is a public administrative establishment, founded in 2010 and placed under the supervision of the ministries responsible for agriculture, consumption, the environment, health and labor. ANSES’ expertise covers the assessment of health risks in the area of food, environment and work, in order to enlighten the public authorities on health matters thanks to a network composed of nine laboratories. ANSES is in charge of human, but also animal and plant health issues and is therefore perfectly anchored in the “One Health” concept. The agency tackles all the chemical, biological and physical risks to which humans may be exposed. Its laboratories, located across the country, conduct research in order to acquire scientific knowledge about health hazards. The Laboratory located in Lyon works in the following areas, linked with veterinary public health: neurodegenerative diseases in animals and humans, in particular subacute transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (national reference laboratory), antibiotic resistance, mycoplasmosis in ruminants, epidemiology by surveillance and research on animal disease surveillance and food safety methodologies. The laboratory also runs two large laboratory networks: the epidemiological surveillance network for antibiotic resistance to pathogenic bacteria of animal origin (Résapath), the epidemiological surveillance network for mycoplasmosis in ruminants (Vigymic).

INRAE, which is the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food, and the Environment, is a major player in research and innovation created on January 1, 2020. Finalized research institute resulting from the merger between the Inra and Irstea, INRAE brings together a community of 12,000 people, with just over 200 research units and around 40 experimental units located in 18 centers across France. The institute is among the world leaders in agricultural and food sciences, plant and animal sciences, and is ranked 11th in the world in ecology-environment. INRAE's ambition is to be a key player in the transitions necessary to respond to major global challenges. Faced with the increase in population, climate change, the scarcity of resources and the decline of biodiversity, the institute is building solutions for multi-performing agriculture, quality food and sustainable management of resources and ecosystems. In the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, the Institute has one of its strongest representations, with 38 units spread over 18 sites, and nearly 1,400 agents. It is organized into 2 research centers, the Clermont-Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Center and the Lyon-Grenoble Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Center. The two Centers include their work in a unique scientific scheme which constitutes the variation of INRAE's research offer in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region around 6 themes:

1. the agro-ecology of pasture breeding systems, the quality of the products derived from them and animal health

2. the integrative biology of model and cultivated plants and their adaptation to their environment

3. water, watersheds, aquatic ecology and associated environmental technologies

4. territories and socio-ecosystems, their qualifications, their trajectories and their support
